Prof. Kapil Shrestha is a passionate human rights activist and a civil society leader who has been at the forefront of Nepal’s democratic movements. He has been advocating for human rights in the country. He is also a Senior Visiting Professor, Central Department of Political Science, Tribhuvan University, and also a Steering Committee member of one year Asia-Pacific Master’s program on Human Rights and Democratization (MHRD/APMA) and a visiting faculty at the Mahidol University, Bangkok.

He has experience of serving in the National Human Rights Commission as a member and as a member of the National Monitoring Committee on Ceasefire Code of Conduct, 2006.

Prof. Shrestha has penned numerous publications in scholarly journals in Nepal and abroad, in both Nepali and English Languages.
