At the age of 19, Shilshila declined a fully funded MBBS Scholarship from the Nepal Government to pursue Environmental Science. She completed her Masters's from Nepal and Norway. She played a leading role in changing policy to ban plastic bags in Nepal. 16 years later, her passion for sustainability has only deepened. Shilshila is the Director of Avni Center for Sustainability, a non-profit, and Avni Ventures, a recycling company with the largest recycling Network in Nepal.
